My Song

Do you want to see a Fairie?? I bet you want to see a fairie, don't you...well, hmmm...not today...perhaps if you stop by tomorrow you will spy a fairie named Chloe!
As for today though, it's all about me. Haha. I say this because I have just finished my cards for a swap called 'What Song/Music are You?' hosted by the ever-so lovely Paola. There were a ton of songs I could have chosen, as I have a varied taste in music and I definitely like to shake my groove thang! But I decided to go with a song that has meant a lot to me over the years. When I first signed up for this swap the first song that came to mind was His Eye is on the Sparrow (A Hymn; Words by Civilla D. Martin, 1905- Music Charles H. Gabriel, 1905). I have always LOVED the version that Lauryn Hill and Tanya Blount did in the Movie Sister Act 2. And ever since I became a Christian in college I have treasured this song because of the encouragement I've found in the Bible passage that speaks of God caring for us as He does for the sparrows, knowing even the smallest of our needs, as He knows even the number of hairs on our heads (Luke).

I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

And that is my song. Thanks for letting me share it with you! And thank you to my dear Catherine for allowing me to borrow this beautiful stamp.

Much Love on this beautiful Tuesday,
Kadie

Awesome! I was all giddy when I saw the preview of your post on my blog - I was all like, "My birdie!" and had to immediately click over for a visit!
Awww, birdie looks so happy! You did a great job with it, and I love the story of how you picked the song. I hope you had fun with the stamp - I love it because you can separate out different sections for layering.
Great job!

OH Kadie, this is truly magnificent - I will cross my fingers that I will get one - what a divine hymnal indeed and it just really reiterates what we are all about - following Him! Love the colors together, too!

Dear sweet Kadie...I received your absolutly GORGEOUS card today and I was speechless finding what U also sent along with it.I was not familiar with your song of choice (even though I did watch Sister ActII) and to say that I became emotional while listening to it is to put it mildly...so good for the soul!
