Smile - COF and Deconstructed Sketch

Hi Friends!
I hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!
I've got another fun card for you using this week's Deconstructed Sketch!

For my card, I've used the sunflower die from My Favorite things and paper from American Crafts, My Girl and tried to incorporate in all of the elements from this month's challenge in my Crafter's of Faith group! And I hope that, just as I always see a Deconstructed Sketch through my unique point of view, that Tami won't mind my unique take on her COF challenge too. :)
I got out some Maroon 5 on the ipod and set to work making a card to meet all of Tami's fun guidelines:

I have a crafting tool that I just had to have and have hardly used. Does that sound remotely familiar?! I think you all may have the same tool in your arsenal. I would like you to drag out your scoring tool. Scor-Pal mini, biggie, Martha mini, biggie or if you do not have one of those, I am sure that you may have a scoring blade on your paper cutter. SCORE!!! It would be fun to see how you all incorporate scoring onto your card. You know I am into 'use what'cha got', so if you do not have a scoring tool of any sort, please create without this element. Oh and I do not mean just a score to fold your cardbase in half! LOL
While it is a 'lovely' month February, let's create a card that is not Valentine's themed. That being said, it is the second part of this challenge. Let's not use Valentine theme, red, pink or white colors anywhere on our cards. That includes the paper you stamp your image on....*gasp*!
For our third element, how about we place both an image and a sentiment on the front of the card.

Okay, let's see:
-Scoring (I scored the center of my card and then placed the patterned paper inside)
-No pink or red or white. Well, oopsie...I forgot about the white part. I'm so sorry, Tami. I know it may seem like a fail in that area, but I actually started to use pink too and stopped myself from that part, so hopefully that counts for something. :) This card doesn't look anything Valentine's, so I got that part right. AND I didn't stamp any image on white...
-An image and sentiment on front (I hope my sunflower can count as my image. I just really wanted to try to do a card with no coloring for this fun sketch).

And that's my card! Thank you so much for popping by and thanks to Tami for such a wonderful COF challenge this month. I ♥ that Gal!! You can see all of the COF creations by clicking on the list of Ladies on my sidebar.

I hope you will check out the fabulous creations of the other Deconstructed Sketch Girls and play along with us this week! I just might have to use this sketch a second time! Have a great one!

Hello Baby

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #188 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's ANYTHING GOES! Isn't that fabulous? :)

My card is one I created a little bit ago for my sweet sister-in-law who recently had a baby boy. I used an old set from a retired company called Hanna's Stamps. I really love the idea of color blocking, so I decided to do a little bit of that with paper, ink and buttons. I believe I used Stampin Up colors (paper and ink): Old Olive, Marina Mist, So Summer, Perfect Pumpkin and the buttons are Basic Grey (misc lines).

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful creations.
Have a wonderful day!

Such a beautiful collection of Whimsical Childhood Treasures that Tammy has created.

The image I've used today is called Unicorn Friend and I've colored it with Copics. I've also added Stickles to the fairies wings, but it's only slightly visible in the photo (really shimmery in real life). The papers I've used are from my Minds Eye, Six By Six Vanity Fair, the button is Basic Grey and the sentiment is from Amuse Studio.

And I thought it only appropriate to showcase a whimsical Birthday card today. *wink*

I've got another fun card for you using this week's Deconstructed Sketch!
For my card, I've kept it pretty simple and used the sketch pretty much as is. I gathered up some fun papers from October Afternoon and Echo Park Paper, added a sentiment from MFT stamps, some embroidery thread and a beautiful die cut butterfly that I bought at Impress stamps. And voila! I hope you'll join in on the fun this week!

Thank you so much for popping by! I hope you will check out the fabulous creations of the other Deconstructed Sketch Girls! Have a great one!

It's time for challenge #187 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's a sketch challenge by the fabulous, Lori Boyd!

I've colored her in Copics and paired this warm cuppa luva with papers from Echo Park, This and That, pearls from Kaisercrafts and flower from Prima. And the card itself will be going to a very special friend of mine who I wish I could visit, give a big hug and share a cup of tea with in person!

Be sure to pop over to the A Day For Daisies Blog to see the other gorgeous creations!

Such a beautiful collection of Owls, called Who Loves You, that Tammy has created.

The image I've used today is called Owl of Mine and I've colored her with Copics. I've also added Stickles to her wings, but it's only slightly visible in the photo (really shimmery in real life). The papers I've used are from Basic Grey, What's Up, the flower is Prima and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

And this is a very special card, because it's going to my niece, Sadie for her 10th birthday! I discovered a few months back that Sadie loves fairies very much and it should come at no surprise, since she has long since been drawn to whimsical things (as most of us are)! So this card is for her! Happy Bday, Sadie-bug!

February Dueling Darlings

Hello, Friends!

Today is the15th, so that means I get to share another Dueling Darlings card with you! Our hostess for the Divas this month was Judy and she and Paola (hostess for the Dazzlers) cooked up something sneaky! I just happened to be with these two lovelies in Seattle when it all went down. I'll let you hop along the card entries to see what I'm talking about ;)

Here is what Judy had to say about our theme and challenge this month:

It’s All About Love!
This theme of love is based on the Bible verses from Corinthians 13: 4,7, 13 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres…And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (New International Version)
There is so much about love to celebrate in February besides the forever traditional day of love, Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14th. To name a few more celebrations that take place this month and that may inspire you as you create your card for this months duel:
• American Heart Month
• International Friend Month
• Random Acts of Kindness Week (10th – 16th in 2013)
• Brotherhood/Sisterhood Week (17th – 23rd in 2013)
• Send a Card to a Friend Day (Feb. 7th)
• Love Your Pet Day (Feb. 21st)
• Family Day (Feb 18, 2013 in Canada)
With this theme in mind we would like you to sow the seeds of love and kindness you have received in your life. You are challenged to pay it forward by performing a kind gesture and doing it anonymously! The week of the 10th – 16th may be the perfect opportunity for you to do this.

Now I can't tell you what my anonymous gesture was for this week (cause it's a secret), but I can tell you that Judy put together and AWESOME kit for us and I tried to use as many elements as I could. The stamp and sentiment are from the Stampin Up set, Summer by the Sea and colored with Copics. The papers are My Mind’s Eye, Love Me and Pinecone Press Papers, Be Mine and the sparkly red ribbon is Recollections I'm not sure where the buckle or brads are from (you have to ask our lovely hostesses).

Thank you Judy and Paola for another fun month!

Be sure and stop by and see what the Divas and Dazzlers have created today.

Hi Friends!
Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope your day is off to a great start and I that you're ready to join us for another FUN week over at The Deconstructed Sketch!

For my card, I've kept it pretty simple. But that's because I wanted to use these really fun XOXO die cut shape bits from American Crafts! I also used so super yummy paper and SU ribbon from my friend, Linda! I decided to go with purple and blue...Valentine's doesn't always have to be pink and red, right? Okay...there's a little pink and red. :)

Thank you so much for popping by! I hope you will check out the fabulous creations of the other Deconstructed Sketch Girls! And don't forget to tell someone she or he is LOVED today!

Love is in the Air

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #186 over at The Pink Elephant and this week the challenge is LOVE IS IN THE AIR

For my card, I've used a couple of very sweet images from There She Goes stamps. The first is a little gnome from My Little Friend and the second is that beautiful tree from Heartfelt Thanks. When I thought of the Love is in the Air theme, I decided I wanted to try and do a mosaic somehow to draw attention to the "air." So I used 6 or 7 different color Copics and created sort of a VanGogh-esk sky with a dotting effect.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful red, white and pink creations.
Have a wonderful day!

Mystery Card February

Hi Friends!
Happy Sunday!

I'm sorry that I had my card posted the last couple of days, but nothing written on the post! We had been out of town for a family birthday and I wanted to make sure my card was posted on time, but then my tablet wouldn't let me write any details! Grrr. Thank you for the sweet comments left, despite my lack of details. :)

So, without further adieu, this is my entry for our little bi-monthly mystery card swap. This round was Linda's turn and she chose for us to work with Stampotique's Tail Wagger. Isn't he adorable? AND it just happened to be great timing because Linda just finished up here round in the SOTC and I received those cards in the mail last week, so I actually CASED one of those awesome cards!! This little Tail Wagger is a CASE of a FAB card by Jeanette!! Thank you, for the inspiration, Jeanette!

And thanks for popping by to see my version of this mystery image!

A Special Valentine

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #185 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's time for an inspiration photo challenge!

For my card, I've used this yummy "Build A Cake" stamp from Amuse Studio and paired it with papers from K and Company. The ribbon behind the cake panel is from Stampin Up (compliments of my secret sister, Linda) and the bow in front is ribbon handmade by my ADFD teammie, Sherry! The little flowers are from Prima and the cake is stamped in SU Real Red. AND this is a very special card, because it's for my little sister, who was born on Valentine's Day and is celebrating her 30th this year! I can't believe she's turning 30!! That makes me feel so old... haha

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful red, white and pink creations.
