No Layers Challenge
It's Friday!! Wahooooooooooooooo! Weekend! Weekend!
AND if you're up for a challenge, there's a fun one going on over at The Greeting Farm and the prize is very generous!
The challenge is to create a card without layers. It's a lot of fun to play with ideas for this one. In fact, if you want some ideas just check out the DT examples...it's awesome how everyone has such different and creative ideas for the same project guidelines! I made two cards hoping to choose one over the other (that's why Sing is dressed the same in both) but in the end I couldn't decide which one I liked better. Maybe you can help me decide. Vote for which of these two layouts/cards you like better and a lil giftie will be given to a random voter. THANKS!! Hope to see you play along at TGF!
Deets:
Stamps: The Greeting Farm HG Sing, Never Ever sentiment-imagine, Misc sentiment-aloha
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, SU! Markers
Embies: SU! Pumpkin Pie Ribbon, Jewel Dots, Pumpkin Thread, Nesties, Basic Great Buttons
I can see why you had a hard time choosing. Both are just absolutely super uber fabulous. I mean your coloring is perfect and really love the orange with the white. I'm sorry I can't help you choose because I love both too. Love the spinner effect and love the ribbon and button treat on the other.
ReplyDeleteOh geez! How on earth do we choose? I love the colors with the all white background of both cards, and I love the spinner, but, I have to say that the first one is my fav. I REALLY love the embossed frame, and the ribbon with buttons! Thanks for the inspiration, Kadie!
ReplyDeleteThis is just adorable-I just found your blog via the greeting farm and I LOVE all your beautiful bright creations-you've got an amazing eye for colour!

Super cute! THis is a tricky challenge, but your cards turned out great!
ReplyDeleteI like em both but the buttons really catch my eye!
ReplyDeleteThese are both so cute! Love the spinner, but also drooling over the buttons. I guess I'm no help! Drat! LOL!
ReplyDeleteJust love the orange and yellow, and as always, TDF coloring!
Duh!! Apparently I'm a little slow today! I thought this was one in the same card when I saw it on TGF's blog today! I thought the first one was the inside of the spinner card! LOL I love that spinner card A LOT! :) Have a fabulous weekend Kadie!
ReplyDeleteI like both of the cards but like the 2nd card best :)
ReplyDeleteI like how the image can move .

These are both so awesome! I would be thrilled to be the maker of either, but if I have to choose...I love the simple beauty of the first 9and that ribbon treatment is fantastic!) :-) Traci
ReplyDeleteI like both, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the spinner one ~ such a great way to add extra dimension to a one layer card! But I do have to say that I really do like the ribbon with the buttons on the first.movo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards! Love the nestie details.
ReplyDeleteGosh, they're both gorgeous. But if I must choose, I'd say the second one.
ReplyDeleteVery hard to choose, I'm pleased you decided to have both coloured so beautifully which means I would probably go for the interaction of the spinner swing card which is very clever and must give it a try! HuGs Kim
ReplyDeleteBoth are just amazing!! Love them, awesome job!!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, how you chose from such beauties - the orange really stands out and is a terrific visual. I'm leaning towards the first one - not sure why ..... they are just darling. Great job :)
ReplyDeleteKadie, these are both brilliant!! Love the spinner design!! WOW! And, the summery colors are so perfect! Trying to pick one of your cards is like saying, "do you want chocolate, or cake?" Um, both?!?! If I am forced to pick. I'd say the spinner because I love interactive type cards!
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic weekend!
Kadie, I love your coloring and the ideas you have. Please could you tell me how you embossed the first card with your Nesties - i think I still haven't found out yet how to do that!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, the spinner the gorgeous!!!
Hi Tanja! Do you have an emboss pad for your Nesties? I used that and then put the image down and then the Nesties Die with the cutting side down atop that. So that means the Emboss mat touched one white master mat and the flat side of the Nestie die touched the other master mat, with all the rest in between. Does that make sense? There is also a tutorial on You Tube if you're using a cuttlebug. Hope that helps! Maybe I'll do a pic tutorial one of these days.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards! I like the first one the most! Greetings from Belgium, Annelies
ReplyDeleteWow! I am speechless... I LOVE them all! I can't pick a favorite! They are both GORGEOUS, Kadie!
ReplyDeleteCan't pick, they are just both amazing! I forget to emboss like that, and what a great shape to do it with...and that spinner is way cool...both beautiful Kadie!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are fabulous!!! I can't possibly choose!!!
ReplyDeleteThe idea with the dangling image is great, but the first card with the buttons is just so classy - having to decide, I think I'll go for that one!
ReplyDeleteThese are both great!!! I love the spinner effect and your bows are seriously perfect. I had a difficult time with this challenge!!! LOL I'm trying to do it with NO ribbon or embellishments but that is proving to be especially difficult!! haha
ReplyDeleteKadie! What a tough decision...I like them both. The first one I love, love, love the ribbon and button treatment. Going to CASE this for sure! The second one I love the cut out panel...Does that swing or what? So clever!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are STUNNING! Gorgeous clean and simple cards. I love them.
