My Favorite TPE
Hi Friends!
Merry Christmas Eve!
It's time for challenge #180 over at The Pink Elephant and this one is going to run for two weeks. The theme is ANYTHING GOES and the DT was instructed to share with you our very favorite TPE cards from the past year.
For my card I've used this very sweet Mo Manning stamp that I got in rubber over at 7kidscollegefund c/o Stampavie and paired it with papers from My Mind's Eye and Tim Holtz mini rosette die. I think this stamp is SO SWEET and how I envision Hubs and I one day. I love this card so much it's been sitting on my dining room table since I made it last February.
Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the favorites from 2012!
And have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This Gift Is For You
Hi Friends! Happy Friday!
It's another fun Friday stamp release for you from A Day For Daisies!! Yipee!! And the theme this week is Mad About Plaid (which, I spaced out on...do polka dots count?)
ADFD has a lovely selection of ladies out and about on the town, called Holiday Shopping. This release is awesome and really reminds me of those fashion plates from when I was a kid. You know, the ones you could mix and match and then roll a crayon over paper to create a multitude of fashion designs!
For my card I've used one of the images called SALE and paired it with a tag and papers from an old Basic Grey line of patterned paper. I also wanted to make her skirt look sparkly and designer, so I added a bit of Stickles.
Be sure and check out all the ADORABLE cards my teammies have made!

Chasing Snowflakes
Hi Friends!
It's Saturday the 15th and I'm so excited to take part in my second duel with the Dueling Darlings and share my card with you today!
This month Barb (my fellow DIVA) and Michelle have challenged us to make a Winter Travel themed card, complete with image from Whipper Snapper and papers from Little Yellow Bicycle.
Each of us got a FABULOUS kit in the mail (thank you Barb!!) and I used several of the items to showcase this theme! And I took inspiration from a few of the Darlings and did the inside of my card too!
I also get to share a winter travel story with you as part of our theme this month. And I have one that's very near and dear to my heart.
When I was 9 yrs old, my family got our first set of snowmobiles. We spent ever winter taking the snowmobiles on trips into the mountains or riding in the hills near our cabin. We did this every Christmas break until my last year of college. On Christmas night when I was in my last year of college, our family decided to take a ride we had taken many times before, several miles through the woods and end up on the other side at a local bar and grill. It was my Dad, my little brother and sister, myself and a few family friends. We set off and all followed one after another in a pack. Even though it's dark, you just keep going and follow the head lights in front of you.
Well, it got to the point where I was following the headlights in front of me (one of the family friends) but noticed my brother was no longer behind me. So I slowed down a bit to wait for the pack behind me to catch up. In the meantime, the lights in front of me faded away, as the distance between us grew further. And after a little wait, no lights appeared behind me. I started back up and pressed on forward to see if those that were in front had stopped to wait for me as well, but I quickly found that no one was in sight and decided I should just stop where I was at and wait.
And then I waited.
My engine was off and I removed my helmet to listen for the sounds of snowmobiles. Nothing was near. And the night was very still. It was starting to get cold quick and a bit of panic set in.
I had become a Christian just a few years before in my first year at University and at this moment, I knew that God was with me and I began to pray. I prayed that He would send someone to find me and that I would be able to stay warm until then. Probably an hour went by, maybe more, maybe less and I kept praying.
Then lights appeared and I jumped of my sled and waved my hands about to catch their attention. I quickly realized it was not someone from my group, but a stranger. He told me that he was trying to get to the same place that I was going to, but didn't know how he ended up in the spot that I was in, because it was not the right way. He said he knew those hills like the back of his hands and wasn't sure how he ended up in the place I was in. He pulled out his GPS and confirmed the direction we should go to get to the restaurant. I told him that I'd been praying and that God had caused him to get lost in order to find me. He thought maybe it was more by chance, but couldn't deny that it was strange for him to have gotten lost too. I told him he was like a guardian angel!
A little while later we made it to the restaurant and I was reunited with my siblings and group...my Dad was out searching for me. And a short time later, I was reunited with my Dad too.
This was the last time we rode snowmobiles, but it was one Christmas that means more to me than I can say. And I thank God for that experience, because He uses it to remind me that He is always present and cares for me and that the people in my life are what real gifts are...not those under the tree.
Wow, that turned out to be a little long winded, but thank you for reading my story.
I can't help but think of the tragedy that occurred yesterday in CT. My heart goes out to all of those families and they are in my prayers. Such a devastating and unthinkable tragedy.

Canned With Love
Hi Friends! Happy Friday!
It's another fun Friday stamp release for you from A Day For Daisies!! Yipee!!
ADFD has a lovely selection of jars called Canned With Love, perfect for all those homemade holiday gifts! And in addition to the jars, another sweet fairie delivering a Christmas ornament.
Since my jar had butterflies on it, I wanted to do something sparkly and it just didn't come out as I'd envisioned. I think my mojo is stuck in la-la land. :) It's hard to see in the photo, but the jar is filled with heat embossed sparkles.
Be sure and check out all the ADORABLE cards my teammies have made!

Happy Freezin Season
Hi Friends!
I hope you're having a SUPER DUPER Monday!! I'm a little late with my special card today (needed to get this one off my camera), but special it is in deed. It's for the awesome MYSTERY SWAP that I'm in!
Every few months we have a different hostess and she picks out a stamp for us to work with. For this round, Jeanette chose for us to use this adorable stamp from Darcie's Stamp called Peekin' Snowman.
I paired up Mr. Snowman with papers from American Crafts and Soft Suede ribbon from SU.
Thanks so much for stopping by to see my card. Have a WONDERFUL weekend!
Christmas Blessings
Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!
It's time for challenge #178 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's time to for another photo inspiration!
For my card I've use an oldie but goodie stamp set from Stampin Up. I think it's actually one of the first sets I ever got! I also made this card into a snow globe. The patterned paper is from American Crafts, the burlap from My Minds Eye, the red ribbon from Amuse Studio and I think the SU set is called Christmas Blessings, but I'm uncertain (the little snow globe pedestal not included).
Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful ideas!!

AND AND today is also our posting day for this month's Crafters Of Faith card!
Mary Rose gave us a wonderful challenge to create a card inspired by our favorite Christmas song and this stamp couldn't have been more perfect for me!
Here is what Mary Rose said:
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
Hello, Crafty sisters! Can you believe the holidays are here? I LOVE this time of year! Peppermint Mocha Lattes, twinkling lights, Hallmark Christmas movies...every good and perfect gift pointing to our Savior. My favorite part of the season? Christmas carols. I LOVE Christmas music, and I have so many CDs that I have to start listening to them in October just to fit them all in! LOL I have a few favorites that make it into heavy rotation (Amy Grant, Kathy Mattea, Point of Grace, Sara Groves), and others that are strictly instrumental and fill the house with the ambient sounds of the season (Jim Brickman, Windham Hill's Celtic Christmas, and more). This month's challenge: Make a card based on one of your favorite Christmas songs or carols. (The Bible verse I chose is often associated with Handel's Messiah, another favorite!) Make sure your card has a little twinkle to represent the light of the world. Bonus points to anyone who includes kraft and gingham in their design (just because I LOVE kraft and gingham!)
Well, Silent Night is my favorite Christmas carol--and O Holy Night is a close 2nd. I also threw in some kraft and gingham, because I too love that combo!
Be sure and check out what songs have inspired this wonderful group of faith-filled Ladies (blog list on the side bar).

Anything Goes At ABC
Hi Friends!
I have 2 post for you today! Can you believe it? :)
A couple week's ago I was a winner at ABC Challenges, which meant that I get to participate today in their new challenge! How cool is that! The challenge this week is ANYTHING GOES and I decided to share a card that I've been waiting to share with you for a while now.
I made this Mo Manning card for my sweet friend, Paola's Mo Manning swap. And I thought today was the perfect day to share it, because it's Paola's BIRTHDAY!!
Paola is one amazing woman: an incredible mother, daughter and grandmother and a sweet, sweet friend to all that she meets. I have been SO blessed to know her and share a friendship with her for 5 years now! BIG HUGS and smoochies to her on this special day.
The stamp I used for this card is Mo's version of Snow White and I've paired her with papers from Amuse Studio, flower from Prima, ribbon is SU and button from Basic Grey. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out this week's ABC Challenge!!

For my card I've used a new stamp this month from MFT Stamps, called You Shine (from the A la mode line). The papers are from Echo Park and this cutie is colored up in Copics.
