Irish Blessing

Alright, I have finally succeeded in creating my Dueling Darlings card for this month. Wooohoo!

For the month of March it was my turn to host for the Divas and I got to do a little theme planning with my Dazzler cohort, April!
We chose to go with a green theme for St. Patrick's Day, but instead of seeing the four leaf clover or the pot of Gold as 'lucky,' we wanted to go with a very 'blessed' theme. It has been such a blessing for me to have met all of these wonderful ladies and cultivate friendships through our love of crafting and through SCS!

As a bonus we asked each of the ladies to share a way that they have recently been blessed. And for me, I recently had a birthday and I received some really sweet things in the mail from a couple of my friends and that touched me more than I can say.

For my card I tried to use as many of the elements as I could from the kit I sent. And unbeknownst to us both, April and I chose the exact same stamp for our teams to work with! The image is Wishing You Luck, a la mode from MFT stamps, the papers are from Portabello Road and Graphic 45, the eyelets are We R Memory Keepers and the flower is Prima (I added an AC brad to the middle). The image was stamped in white, vanilla and kraft and I decided to try something different and go with the kraft image. I also really wanted to draw attention to the clover, so I colored that in Copics and left the rest of her as is. The inside of the card (I have been so inspired that the DD's do such beautiful cards inside and out, that I decided to try my hand at the inside this time) is an Irish Blessing that April picked out for the group and I added the kaiser craft bling to that.

I also used a mojo sketch (279) from a few weeks back and just flipped it on it's side.

  1. Okay.....I will come back later!

I have seen the trim you sent and am seriously jealous! Not that I would know what to do with it, but I would probably trim out a shelf with it and never put it on a card!!
