My Favorite Princess

Hi There!

I’m here with a card I’ve been thinking up for awhile now, as a fun way to use my favorite princess stamp from The Sassy Club!

I wanted to use these hot foil stars from Spellbinders to create a cascading night look for the fairies to be floating down toward their princess. I think it works! It makes for a very tall card though, so it’s hard to fit it all in.

I’ve also ran some gold thread lines up the sides to frame the scene and backed the frame with sparkly gold paper from Simon Says Stamp. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the color inside the clouds is gold sparkle pen (it appears yellow in the photo). Sentiment is from another set at The Sassy Club as well.

Thanks for popping in for a look! Have a great day!

Beautiful Friend

Hello Beautiful Friends!

I’m back with another new card and this one just happens to have a bit of green, making it perfect to meet the criteria for this Monday’s Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

For my card I’ve used stamps and stencil from Concord & 9th. The flower is shaded using Tim Holtz Ranger distress ink. The sentiment is from Spellbinders and is heat embossed in gold.

Don’t keep it boxed up

Hellooooo and Happy Thursday!

I’m playing along with this week’s sketch challenge again over at Splitcoast Stampers. I’ve been so excited to use this die set from Spellbinders but haven’t been able to figure out how to use it on a project yet. Marion’s sketch offered such a great layout to display the box and balloon with panels!  The die sets from Spellbinders are Surprise Box and Colored Blocked Balloons. The sentiment is from a retired set from Unity Stamps Co. called Empowered Words.

Thanks for taking a look! Be sure to check out the other awesome cards at SCS using the below sketch!

First Foil Card

It’s Sunday and I’m back with the card I’ve been stewing over for this week’s Wednesday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. The challenge is foil cards and while I’ve long admired this technique and have even had my very own Glimmer hot foil machine for months and months now, I still hadn’t been successful in my attempts at foiling. But thanks to a few helpful hints on YouTube, I gave it another try and here it is, my very first Foil card!

For this card I’ve used the Spellbinders Tulip and Frame sets and attempted to water color it. I have to say, since I’m quite comfortable with my Copics, it’s a real learning curve for me to get the outcome I have in my head using other mediums. I’m also quite the perfectionist, so I’ve sat with this one all week, tweaking and messing with, and doubting it. I’ll get better though, I just need more practice.

Thanks for taking a look! I welcome any hints on how to keep your hot plate from moving and double imprinting after you place your foil, paper and plates and then move it to the press.
