Sneak Peek-A-Roo

Remember that show Punky Brewster? I happened to buy season one on DVD several years ago and last week pulled it out again. I couldn't believe my DH had never seen it! But I'm telling you this because Punky always added "a-roo" to different words...a reoccuring one was "Gross-a-roo!" And that is how I ended up with today's title...omitting the gross part of course!!
It's almost release day at The Greeting Farm and all I have to say is YIPEE!!! I love the new stamps that are coming out tomorrow: Hope and Grace and a new line of lil cuties called Wild Sprouts.

Here is a sneak of tomorrow's card featuring Annika from the Wild Sprouts line!

Flutterby

I remember being with my best friend in college and us talking about butterflies. She had always LOVED butterflies (almost as much as Jessica *wink). We were talking about the name and I can't remember the exact exchange but I recall the question was posed, "why do we call them butterflies when they flutter by?" And from then on we called them Flutterbys. That sweet friend has a birthday tomorrow. We don't talk often anymore but I still think of her and all those great, unforgettable times we had together. I made this card with her in mind.
The layout is care of my talented friend, Sandra. I cased this beautiful card she sent to me. Thanks, Dearie!!
Have a great day, Friends!!

Sweet Susie Cupcake

Hiya!
Another weekend has passed...why can't everyday be the weekend! Oh yeah...because the weekdays pay for the stamps!
My card for you today channels a little bit of my inner cupcake and was somewhat inspired by my dear friend, Sandra's cupcake card for the Taylored Expressions Guest spot last week (#64). Isn't her card brilliant!
For my card I used the Susie Surprise set from The Greeting Farm. It's funny because the first image I colored up I colored in the eyebrows a little too fully and realized she totally looked like Susan Boyle singing her heart out! HAHA! I was just going to go with it because Susan/Susie seemed to fit. LOL! But in the end I decided to color up another image. :)
I hope you're enjoying your Monday and I'll see you back here tomorrow!

A Pirate's Life for Me

Happy Friday, Everyone!!
I'm so excited for the weekend. It has just been gorgeous here in Seattle and while I do love the rain (a true Seattlite) I'm also looking forward to a bright and sunny weekend. I've noticed that after so much time with overcast weather, a bit of sunshine puts the general Seattle population in a brilliant mood. Yay for happy people!

I was on pins and needles last night waiting to upload my card to show you today! I went to Michael's last week and bought a TON of patterned paper...that store is very dangerous. Among the papers I found 2 pirate pages and was instantly inspired for a Peter card. This paper is so cool--says things like "a pirate's life for me" "walk the plank" "captain jack sparrow"--but of course those cool phrases often get covered up when I lay down the elements of my card. Ah well, you get the idea! I also was super excited to use the mushrooms from Wonderland to pair with the Peter image (all images are The Greeting Farm). It kinda reminded me of the place where Peter and the Lost Boys live in Never Never Land. I had so much fun with this card!! Teehee...sorry I just can't help but say it.
I hope you have a superb and beautiful weekend!! And if you're up for a challenge, there's one going on over at Club Anya. Check it out!

Happy 100

Today is my 100th post! Incredible!
My card today uses a digi stamp from Little Paper Shop. Isn't this stamp adorable? LPS has a whole line of these sweet digis and I'm now in love with them!
I started putting this card together and just kept thinking about my DH. He's been having a tough couple of weeks and I just want to hug him and make things all better---I wish that would do the trick. It works for kissing boo-boos, right?
I hope you like this card. I got it to work and started to take it's photo and then realized that I had really wanted to add a little pearl dot to each of her shoes and one to the middle of the flower in her hair. Darn it! So, please just close your eyes and imagine that those embellishments are there. :) Have a great Thursday!

Welcome Baby

I made a very simple card today for some special friends of ours.
A couple years ago our friends got their foster care and adoption licenses and very soon after got a call asking them to take in a little brother and sister who needed a good home. They said yes, of course, and in August they were able to officially adopt them. A week ago they got a surprising call. Another baby needed a home...and he was the one week old biological baby brother of their two kids! Of course they said yes again and welcomed the newborn into their home. Things are still unknown as far as permanency but how awesome that he gets to be with his brother and sister and they get to be with him!
I was at the store picking up a few things to give to our friends and was also browsing through cards to slip a gift card into. Of course with this unique situation and the uncertainty of whether or not they will get to keep this sweet baby, it was hard to find an appropriate card! And that's just silly anyway, right? I make cards; that's what I do! So I kept it simple. The outside says 'Welcome' and the inside says 'Baby boy.'
Thanks for stopping by today and allowing me to share such a special story with you.
P.S. We've officially hit 50 followers (thanks Katarina)!! We will now have 2 winners in the giveaway! Woohoo!

Save the Fishies!

Good Monday Morning to You!
This weekend was beautiful in Seattle. DH and I went on a few walks, I spent some time with family and then Sunday I worked on swap cards all day. A little over a year ago I met this fabulous groups of ladies on SCS and soon after we formed a monthly swap group called the Sisterhood of the Traveling cards (cute, huh? *wink). This month the theme is Earth Day. So I decided to go green and use a few recycled items on my card. It was quite the task to stitch each of the plastic pop can carriers around the fish, but I am happy with the outcome.
Hope you enjoy your day today!

Easter Sunday

It's a few days after Easter but I figure that's okay because to me the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus is something to be acknowledged all year round. :) This is a very similar recreation of the card I gave to my parents when Josh and I spent the afternoon with them on Sunday. I love giving my mom cards because even if it is the simplist, most basic card in my mind she always praises it. It took me right back to kindergarten; like I had brought home a drawing that I'd made in school and she proudly placed it on the fridge. I love my mom!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I'm very blessed by each of you!
Love,
Kadie

P.S. Don't forget to stop back tonight for the Big Club Anya Blog Hop to celebrate the new releases!!

Susie Says, It's Your Day!

Good Morning, Lovelies!

My card today features another brand spankin new set from The Greeting Farm called Susie Surprise. This set comes with a bunch of fun cupcakes and accessories, which I'm excited to play with, but for this one I wanted to spolight Miss Susie herself.

I actually spent quite a bit of time agonizing over this layout. As always I had the image colored up and the papers chosen and then they sat in waiting. I knew I wanted to created a present but where I struggled was how and where and what and who and why and ...okay, maybe it wasn't that bad. :) I have really taken a liking to stitching! I just can't get enough of it! This card really was a blast afterall and this set is SO FUN to play with. You should check out my friend and fellow DT member, Tammy's blog too and see her awesome Susie cards!

Thanks for popping in today!

Woohoo!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today! If I think of all the ways to verbally express my joy and excitement in life, using the word WOOHOO is my favorite (and that's the totally PG version of woohoo, if you know what I mean--for those of you who went there--Mary)! :)

Today I'm showing a card that uses the froggie from The Greeting Farm's brand new set, Down by the Pond. Isn't he adorable? I love his big happy grin. The layout is from SCS sketch challenge 221.
And...I'm going to be having a little giveaway...or perhaps it will turn out to be a BIG giveaway. Woohoo!!!

I Am A Turtle

Yay!! The new sets at The Greeting Farm have arrived!! I couldn't wait to show you Down by the Pond. This whole set is so adorable (gotta love that froggie!) but I'm especially drawn to the turtle. For as long as I can remember turtles have been my favorite animal. And as I think about the story of the tortoise and the hare, I can't help but think I relate more to the tortoise. Slow and steady, kinda puttering along...and also crawling into my shell when I'm intimidated or need alone time :) Plus, turtles (although slightly wrinkly) are just so darn cute!!
I hope you enjoy today's card and thanks SO much for stopping by!
