Lift It

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #196 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's time to LIFT IT. For this challenge you are to be inspired by someone else's creation and re-create it or CASE it (be sure to give them credit though!).

I have long since been inspired by my teammate, Joni's mastering of the Copic coloring without lines technique. The idea is to stamp your stamp with a very light ink so that no lines show. And then all of your image is entirely color, creating a watercolor effect. I also cased THIS card of Joni's.

I have a long way to go before I've got this technique down. Starting with the fact that I didn't have an inks light enough to not show a few lines. I tried though! The image I used is Isabella, from The Saturated Canary, the paper is from My Mind's Eye, the 'hello' die and Washi are from Impress and the ribbons are PTI and May Arts.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful creations.

Golden Anniversary

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY DUELING DARLINGS CARD

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #195 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's time to try your hand at PAPER PIECING!

Well, I just happened to have this card at the tip of my fingers that my friends Paola, Carol and I created last weekend for another dear, dear friend of ours who recently celebrated her Golden Anniversary with hubby of 50 years! I was hoping that this card would have arrived before I blogged about it, but since the paper piecing challenge came up, I knew I had to let the cat out of the bag. Judy, m'dear--Happy Happy Anniversary and this card is coming your way with love from the 3 of us (a collaborative effort).

The cake stamp used for this card is from an Amuse Studio set, called Build a Cake and the sentiment is also Amuse, called Essential Sentiments; stamped on a Spellbinders die. The background die is from Memory Box and there is a scored border. The turquoise cardstock is MFT and the paper pieced patterned paper is from Echo Park Paper, This and That. And lastly the cake is adorned with Gold Stickles and the card with pearl dots.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful creations.

April Duel

Hi Friends!

It's that time again for our monthly Duel in the Dueling Darlings card group!

This month the Divas were hosted by Tami and the Dazzlers were hosted by Darlene. Tami sent us a kit chalked full of so many goodies, it was very hard for me to make up my mind which way to go with my card.
I finally settled on what you see before you, but I assure you I will put the rest of the goodies to use in the near future (thank you, Tami)!

The gorgeous sunflower image is from Delta Creative and the papers are from Bo Bunny, Simple Stories and Doodlebug. The ribbons are from Offray and Craftsmart.

We were also asked to share our favorite flower and this is hard for me because I LOVE LOVE flowers and have a few favorites. My absolute two favorite flowers are Tulips and Lilacs and without question, I will always gravitate toward them in any capacity. But I also love peonies, roses, hydrangeas, hyacinths, gerber daisies, dahlias, lavender, sunflowers and the list goes on. I'm so thankful God decided to create flowers, because they brighten even the darkest day.

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday. Please check out what my fellow Darlings have created for you today!

Never Never Land

Hiya!
Welcome to another fun Friday for A Day For Daisies!
This month's club kit is in the store and we're showcasing images from it today!! And don't forget about the current challenge to use, your FAVORITE TECHNIQUE.

I am totally in love with this month's Club Kit. Tammy has outdone herself once again with awesome inspired images from a very beloved Fairy Tale. In fact, this fairy tale happens to be one of my all time favorites. The image I worked with for Today is called, Kiss for Pan and I mostly just kept it super simple to give all the attention to the image. Again, I used my favorite technique (using Copic markers) and paired the colored image with a page from an old DCWV pad, called Once Upon A Time. The sentiment is PTI and the button is Basic Grey.

I also have a card for Sami's release this week! She has some whimsical beauties for you!

AND in case the kit and Sami's release weren't exciting enough, this is the second week that A Day For Daisies now has stamps available in clear polyemer! Check out the ADFD store HERE.

Be sure and check out what all the rest of the team has created for you!

Some People

Hi Friends!
Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another round of mystery images for the super fun Unidentified Image group that I'm in. Every other month we share a card using the same image and bounce around from blog to blog (or gallery to gallery) to see how each other have used that image.

This month our hostess was Carol and she chose this sweet image called "A Couple of Cuties," from Clear Art Stamps. I had the amazing pleasure of getting to spend last weekend with my dear friends, Carol and Paola, so since Carol was hostess this round, I couldn't help but be inspired by her favorite color palette for this card. There are two slightly different versions of my card so that I could use the inset black and white circles. I couldn't decide which one was my favorite, so I just decided to show them both.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

Oh, I also wanted to share the beautiful flowers that Carol bought for me at Pike Place Market. Aren't they stunning? Thanks, again, Sweet Friend!

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #194 over at The Pink Elephant and this week were using SPRING COLORS!

For my card today I've used another cutie from By LORi Designs. This is Puddle Jumper Sweet Girl and she is colored up in Copics and paired with my interpretation of spring colored papers from My Mind's Eye. The stamp is from Amuse Art Stamps, the buttons are from Basic Grey and there's just a little bit of hand stitching too.

Favorites!

Hiya!
Welcome to another fun Friday for A Day For Daisies!
This month's club kit is still in the works, so for this Friday we're making cards with some of our very favorite ADFD stamps!! AND this is also a challenge week, so staying in the theme of favorites, the challenge is to use your FAVORITE TECHNIQUE.

Well, I happen to have two techniques that I use on pretty much every card (at least one or the other). The first is coloring with Copic markers and the second is hand stitching. For my card today, I've done both. Also, I forgot to take another pic of the balloon, but it's doubled up and popped up, which is a fun technique as well. I colored up this stamp called One Balloon using the following Copic markers:
Overalls: E81, E84, E87
Shirt: BG57, BG53 and BG18
Hat: N7, N5, N3, N1, Shoes: N7, N5
Skin: E02, E51
Balloon: YR18, YR16, YR04
The papers are from Fancy Pants, Swagger, the twine is May Arts, the buttons are Basic Grey and the Sentiment is PTI, Mixed Messages.

There's also something SUPER EXCITING that I wanted to share with you and that is that A Day For Daisies now has stamps available in clear polyemer! Check out the ADFD store HERE.

Be sure and check out what all the rest of the team has created for you!

Birthday Wishes

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #193 over at The Pink Elephant and this week were using 3 different patterned papers PLUS our favorite embellishment!

My favorite embellishments are buttons but I decided to incorporate them and my patterned papers a little more subtly into my card this week. I really wanted to use this Unity stamp that I'd bought for my DH and I thought the only way for me to showcase it properly was to do a more CAS card. So I made banners from this new Stampin Up dsp and used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I also stamped the stamp on a Washington State map I'd been saving for something special. I thought this would be a cool effect and give this card more of an open road feel--isn't that what motorcycles are about? :) Anyway, hope you like my card today!
