Stars and Stripes

Hi Friends!
Happy Memorial Day!

I wanted to pop in and let you know that today's challenge #201 over at The Pink Elephant is a STARS AND STRIPES THEME.

My husband and I headed out of town for the weekend and I anticipated getting back in time to make a brand new card for this challenge. Alas, we ended up arriving home at 11pm last night. The best laid plans...

I will be putting together another fun STARS and STRIPES card for you today, but in the mean time, here is one of my all time faves, using Firecracker Finn from By LORi Designs!

Have a wonderful Day!

Congrats

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

Well, we have officially reached challenge #200 over at The Pink Elephant!! Can you believe it? Happy 200, TPE!! And this week your challenge is to celebrate the graduate with a GRADUATION CARD!

I made this card over the weekend for my little brother who graduated Bible school. Such an accomplishment for a young man who was working full time, with a family and also driving 3 hours to and from school one a week! We are all so proud of him.
But as I was getting ready to post, it occurred to me, since this has a huge congrats on the front, I thought it also fitting in congratulating TPE for reaching 200 challenges!

The card is very simple as far as supplies go. I just used SU very vanilla and early espresso card stock, three shades of Washi that I picked up at TGF back in the day, Sizzix letter die cuts and a small stamped sentiment from SU.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful creations.
Have a wonderful day!

Celebrating Moments

Hi Friends!
We've reached Deconstructed Sketch #101 and it's also time for another Duel with the Dueling Darlings!

This month our hostesses (for the DDD) Kelly (for the Divas) and Jeanette (for the Dazzlers), chose a theme to celebrate special moments.

Here is what they had to say: Since May is traditionally the month of celebrating Mother's Day, many anniversaries, upcoming June weddings, Holy Communions and Confirmations, graduations and so much more, we thought we'd take this time to celebrate the moments that mean so much! Our theme this month is: Making Memories, Celebrating Moments!

Kelly provided us with just the yummiest kit! In my opinion you can't go wrong with a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp! This beauty is called Tessa Tassel and she's paired with papers from Carta Bella, button from We R Memory Keepers, ribbon from Offray and graduation hat from EK Success. Thank you, Kelly!

We were also asked to share a past memory or current moment that means much to us. There are so many special moments in my life, but I will go with something recent. Last weekend I got to spend time with my almost 2 year old niece, just she and I. She's getting really good at speaking and it's also quite adorable. Something she always does when you ask her a question is say, "yeah." So I asked her something, she said, "yeah," and then I decided to mimic her with my own, "yeah." And then it was a full on "yeah" fest! It was adorable and so is she! I just can't get enough of that sweet girl. So, that's my special moment for the week!

Hope you all have a great day!

Celebrating Mothers

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

It's time for challenge #198 over at The Pink Elephant and this week it's time to CELEBRATE MOTHERS.

I was staring at my desk over the weekend, thinking about Mother's Day and out from beneath the papers I spied this beautiful A Day For Daisies image that I'd printed out. I just knew this was what I wanted to use for this week's challenge. The mom's dress is paper pieced in papers from My Mind's Eye with background to match. I've done a bit of hand stitching, used a Kaisercraft rub-on for the sentiment and added a Prima flower.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go visit The Pink Elephant Blog to see all the wonderful creations.
Have a wonderful day!

Matt 22:37

Hellooooooooooo and HAPPY MAY DAY!

I'm running a bit behind this week, but as promised I have a card for you with combined challenges--The Pink Elephant's WASHI TAPE challenge, as well as, my Crafter's of Faith card for April's FLOWER theme.

Here is what April had to say about her challenge this month:

I spent my childhood being called April Showers or even April Flowers. It would probably be called bullying nowadays, but I seemed to take it all in stride. Because of this moniker, I wanted to highlight a verse which is about Spring. I think this one is apropos!

Leviticus 26:4 - Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Although my verse does not say flowers explicitly, a plant must flowers before it bears fruit. I would love your card this month to show off flower --- stamps, die cuts, crocheted, etc! {If you want, you can add rain, but that isn't a necessity.}

Have fun with this verse and the glorious Spring Season!

For my card I went a little easy on the flowers, I know, but I was trying to think outside the box. I do LOVE flowers and I also LOVE COLORING flowers, but I really wanted my focal point to be on this verse from Matthew that I love so much. I also wanted the WASHI to be prominent, so I used that in lieu of a patterned paper for the background.
The Washi is from Impress, the verse stamp is from Our Daily Bread and the flower is from Kaisercraft.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure and visit all of the other beautiful Crafter's of Faith (listed on my side bar) and leave them some love!
