A Bridal Shower

Hi Friends!
I'm sorry for the lag in posts this week. It's been uber hot here in Seattle and the will to stamp has not been with me when my house is 90 degrees inside! But stay tuned because tomorrow is the Big Birthday Blog Hop for The Greeting Farm!! Woohoo!! Be sure and check back at 9 am CST tomorrow!

Although it's been sweltering, I did finish the invitations I had been working on for my sister's bridal shower. Yay! Thanks to a dear friend who let me borrow this lovely Bridal Party Bellas stamp from Stamping Bella and a very simplistic idea I had in my head, I was able to pull it off all in a few hours! Shhhh, don't tell. I mean--I've been toiling over these invites for months...wink. If you're looking closely you might think I'm not giving people much notice, but the guest list is small and I cleared the date with them months ago, so we're cool :) Also, I erased a few things off the invite in photoshop for privacy, so IRL her last name is included and the text is balanced.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my latest creation! Have a super weekend and hope to see you all back here tomorrow!

Monster Bedtime

Happy Monday!
It has been a warm one in Seattle the past week or so and I think it's going to stay that way! I did go out and do a tiny bit of gardening over the weekend though and it was lovely and I'm super excited about my new hydrangea that I planted.
Enough with the weather though, let's get to the exciting part...today's card is for my friend Kelly's Monster/Alien swap and features this cutie Monster Bedtime stamp from Victoria Case Art. I can't get over how cute he is and how I just want to give him a big ole hug and tell him he's my friend. The card itself is kind psychedelic though, eh? I thought I'd do something fun and funky!

Hope you all have a great start to your week and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Birds of a Feather

Okay, I think it's safe to say that Cosmo Cricket paper is my new thing. LOL. This is my third card in a row using this fab paper. AND today's pattern is appropriately named Early Bird. I designed this card for this month's Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards theme--Come Fly With Me--hosted by the lovely Susan. Just to fair warn though, the swap cards will be ever so slightly simplified, just because I do all my stitching by hand and 5 more of these might put me in the mad house. :) I'm really pleased with how the layout on this one turned it. Sometimes it's hard to execute a vision in ones head, but I played with this one a bit and in the end it's pretty much what I'd been hoping for. I would love to find out if there's a tool out there that will round off the top of my cards if I choose to do this layout again. It was a bit of a bugger to get my fiskars circle cutter just the right circumference and then not to go too far past the center line. Okay, enough about that. Hope you all have a superb Wednesday...halfway to the weekend!
Oh and I would LOVE for you to join my TGF card swap! If you have a moment check it out!! Thanks!

I Like You

Helloooooooo!
I was totally looking for a stamp that said "I like you" for this card because I figured our little Edward here was trying to get up the nerve to ask Annika to go see the new Harry Potter movie or something. But then I discovered I could combine a couple of the sentiments from Pretty Hat...so instead, Edward is approaching Annika, hands in pocket, a little nervous and in a shy voice proclaiming "you're pretty." Ahhhhhh school days and crushes!! Hope you like this card. Eventually Annika will have a jewel on her barrett, but alas, I noticed this morning that I forgot it! Derrrrr.
Have a great day!

Hello Friends!
I'm sorry that my posts have dwindled a bit. I really meant to show you this card on Friday but I just wasn't satisfied and needed to "tweak" a few things. So without futher adieu, here it is to start off a new week. For this card I used the TGF hot air balloon stamp again (my new fave!!) from the Fly Away set and the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper. I also cased this layout from the amazingly talented Debbie Olson. If you have a moment go check out her blog. Her talent is INcredible and extremely inspirational! I'm hoping that each of us has a Fantastic week! Thanks for popping in!

A Personalized Gift

Hi Friends!
Today I have my second commissioned card to show you...commissioned in the sense that someone asked me to create something for them and I did and I love how it turned out!! After seeing some of my cards online, my cousin Alicia asked me if I might have some inspiration to create a special something for her upcoming wedding anniversary.
My answer was, "oh yes, of course!!" I was a little bit intimidated at first by the project but inspiration quickly came once she sent me some posters to look at. I included the sentiment as an insert so that she would have room to write her love note inside the card and not have to worry about working around it. I hope that it helps to adequately celebrate such a special day and I look forward to my next "project."
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look!

Gone Fishin

I have something totally fun for you today!! A couple friends and I decided to get together (virtually) once a month and create a card using the same elements! This is our first go at it. I know that mine is pretty simple and will probably pale in comparison to the card masters that Sandra and Mary are, but I had fun making it! Perhaps this Chickie was on his way out to go fishing, but since there is an absence of fish in the image, I immediately thought of "missing you" as the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great week!
