Don’t keep it boxed up

Hellooooo and Happy Thursday!

I’m playing along with this week’s sketch challenge again over at Splitcoast Stampers. I’ve been so excited to use this die set from Spellbinders but haven’t been able to figure out how to use it on a project yet. Marion’s sketch offered such a great layout to display the box and balloon with panels!  The die sets from Spellbinders are Surprise Box and Colored Blocked Balloons. The sentiment is from a retired set from Unity Stamps Co. called Empowered Words.

Thanks for taking a look! Be sure to check out the other awesome cards at SCS using the below sketch!

Have a Brite Day

Hello to you on this beautiful Tuesday!

I had a lot of fun this weekend coloring up images and trying to think up some fun layouts to present them with. This adorable stamp from The Sassy Club, called Sunshine Girl, has been on my list to get colored and shared. And since we are both children of the 80’s, my little Sister’s birthday is the perfect card to display her on!

For the rainbow I’ve used a die cut from Honey Bee Stamps. The stars are also from that die set as well, and then sprinkled with Stickles.

First Foil Card

It’s Sunday and I’m back with the card I’ve been stewing over for this week’s Wednesday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. The challenge is foil cards and while I’ve long admired this technique and have even had my very own Glimmer hot foil machine for months and months now, I still hadn’t been successful in my attempts at foiling. But thanks to a few helpful hints on YouTube, I gave it another try and here it is, my very first Foil card!

For this card I’ve used the Spellbinders Tulip and Frame sets and attempted to water color it. I have to say, since I’m quite comfortable with my Copics, it’s a real learning curve for me to get the outcome I have in my head using other mediums. I’m also quite the perfectionist, so I’ve sat with this one all week, tweaking and messing with, and doubting it. I’ll get better though, I just need more practice.

Thanks for taking a look! I welcome any hints on how to keep your hot plate from moving and double imprinting after you place your foil, paper and plates and then move it to the press.

Eeyore Says

Hello and a happy Saturday to you!

I’ve been trying to drum up some card inspiration this week so that I could join in with the two fun challenges happening over at Simon Says Stamp. While I’m still working on the Foil challenge from Wednesday, here’s my entry for Monday’s Tie it Up theme.

For my card I’ve used this sweet stamp from Unity Stamp Company called Weeds are Flowers, from their Winnie the Pooh line.

Happy Friday, Friends!

I have another fun card for you today using this week’s Wednesday sketch challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Be sure and pop over there to check out all the fun ways people have been inspired by Lisa’s sketch.

For my card, I’ve colored up another adorable stamp called The Sweetest by artist Mo Manning. You can find this cutie, here at Mo’s Digital Pencil. The sentiment is from Spellbinders.

Valentines for our Valentine

Well hello there and Happy day of Love to you!

If you’re like me, you’ve been happily crafting some Valentines for the Valentines in your life and maybe even some for your Galentines. 😊

My son and I worked on some cards together for his Dad (also known as my Hubs). We had the best time thinking up what would go onto his card. He LOVES this Dungeon Squad stamp set from The Sassy Club and was very excited to color up this stamp that’s reminiscent of one of his favorite characters.

For my card, I’ve also used a stamp from The Sassy Club and it is in the likeness of one of my childhood favorites as well! He’s from the Hog N Friends set.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. If you prefer Instagram you can also find me over there under kensley.mymindseyecreations

Would love to have you follow my new page there and I’ll be sure to follow you back!

Have a wonderful and happy Heart Day!

Thoughts of You

Hi Friends!

I’m back with a CAS card that I created as a Valentine to give out this week! Another card that just happens to fit for this week’s ’Love is in the Air’ challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.

This adorable Peeking Pets set is from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I kept my card as clean and simple as possible (for me!) and went with some Stickles for bling and die cut heart stack for pop of contrast on the side. I apologize that’s it’s a little difficult to see the sparkle from the Stickles due to lighting.

Thanks for taking a look!

Love you, so, so much

Hello, Friends!

I’ve been busily getting inky in my craft space and seeing if after all the years, coloring is like riding a bike. I think I can confirm that the muscle memory is indeed there. 🤭

Since I had been working on coloring, a few images were ready to go and just needed some inspiration to match them with. I decided to visit Splitcoast Stampers because I remembered they have daily inspirational challenges, and found that my friend, Jeanette hosts the Wednesday sketch challenge! I was so excited!

I printed it out, went to my space and got to work thinking of what papers and embellishments would compliment the Mo Manning stamp, called With Love, (originally bought from Penny Black and is available in digital form at Mo’s store) that I had colored up and in waiting. Jeanette’s sketch was the perfect layout to highlight this image.

Here is the sketch called SC996

Hope you like what you see! Thanks for taking a look. AND there’s still time to join in the fun for this week’s sketch over at SCS! Would love to see what you create with it as well!

Sending Love

Hello Again!

I was attempting to wait until Sunday and get in a rhythm of posting a new creation only once a week (for fear of getting going again fast, only to burn out again), but I was just too excited to hold out another day. 🤭

I created this card a few months ago to send to a dear friend of mine (I never posted it because I wasn’t blogging back then). I think now, being that it’s so close to Valentine’s Day, it’s a great time to post this card. I also see that it fits perfectly to join in the Wednesday ‘Love is in the Air’ challenge over at Simon Says Stamp! Yippee!

This is the first time I’ve succeeded (IMO) in using Tim Holtz distress ink to create a cloud background. Many attempts had been made by myself previously and I scrapped them all. (SMH. I’m my worst critic).

Let’s see if I can recall some other details of the items I’ve used for this card…the stamp is from Colorado Craft Company called, Happy Day, purchased at Simon Says Stamp. The balloons are from MFT and topped with Stickles and heart confetti.

I’ve also started something else in this crafting reboot journey…I’ve been making new creations using only papers from boxes of scraps I’ve held onto. I have loads of fresh, full sized cardstock and patterned paper just calling out to me and yet, I am resolved to making a dent in the scrap paper pile. If I’m not going to do it, I just need to recycle. I have a hard time letting go, to be honest. So this card is made entirely of paper found in my scrap bin.

Thanks for taking a peek! Have a lovely rest of the week!

Next Level Thankful

Hello, Friends! I’m back!

It’s been quite some time that we’ve met in this way, but I think the mojo has finally returned. I took a long hiatus from design teams and swaps and card making in general (not entirely, as family members still received the occasional handmade celebratory card) following the birth of my son. Hard to believe that was nearly 10 years ago. Over those 10 years all my energy was devoted to him, family time and work. My craft room quickly became a storage room.

It’s been my goal for 2024 to turn that space back into MY creative space and it’s almost there! It’s not yet photo ready, but card making can once again take place. And I’m happy to share that crafting has indeed been happening :)

The card I’m sharing today is one that my Son and I worked on together to thank his Auntie for gifting him a new game for his Nintendo Switch.

The main image for this card is from the Dungeon Squad clear cling stamp set by The Sassy Club. (Let’s see if I can remember how to do a link to the website)

Thanks so much for taking a moment to spy the new creation. Would love any comments left to know you’re still out there!

{{{hugs}}}
