Penguin Party

Hellooooooo!

It's the last Day of December and I'm headed over the mountains to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with my wonderful in-laws. But before I go, I have one more card for 2010 to share with you!

For this one I've used Party the Penguin (by Jane's Doodles for Claudia and Company) to create a penguin PARTY!! And you might have noticed that I also snuck in Lori Boyd's penguin companion stamp that comes with the Winter Ella. :) I was thinking about this penguin with the scarf on and then I saw a "do not open until Dec 25" stamp...and I thought, well maybe Party the Penguin is like 'Lotso' from Toy Story 3 and he wants to have the spotlight on himself, so he put all the other penguins in a jar and attached that note. I come up with these little stories for my cards...LOL! But then when I started making the card it just seemed to go in a little bit different direction. Instead, these little penguins are yours for the price of 5 cents each and Party the Penguin is having his day in the spotlight, just as he'd hoped, because someone just picked him!
And that's the story. :)

I hope you ALL have a Wonderful New Years and I'll see you again very soon!
Hugs,
kadie

P.S. sorry for the bad photo, I could not find the charger for my regular camera anywhere and had to use my bad backup!

Shades of Winter

Hi Friends!

Can you believe December is coming to an end already? Where has the time gone! And that means that we're about to say goodbye to 2010 as well. It's hard to believe a whole decade has passed since we partied like it was 1999 :)

I'm back with 2 cards for you today and they both feature Puddle Jumpers having fun in winter weather!

First up is PJ Winter Landon and he's gone out to play on a lovely day...the sun is out, the grass is just starting to show itself again, but there are still banks of snow piled up too! I think he and teddy will create one last snowman!

And my second card features PJ Winter Ella. She is a bit more bundled than Landon, because her wintery weather calls for a little more cozy. The snow is falling, she's catching flakes on her tongue, and having a blast traipsing through it all in her favorite winter galloshes!

I just can't get enough of these cutie pie Puddle Jumpers! And they're going to be making their way into theBRAND NEW Claudia and Company STORE on January 1st!! MARK YOUR CALENDAR!!

I hope your last few days of 2010 are Super and Fun and Super*!!

P.S. Landon's card is a layout case of one of my card 'heroes'--the very talented and lovely Amy Sheffer.

*wink---love you, Hubs

Let It Snow!

Hello Friends!

How are you? Did you have a nice Holiday?
I had a wonderful Christmas, spent with lots of family. And I get to do it all over again this weekend with my hubby's family---so excited!

I hear that many of you are experiencing SNOW and LOTS of it!! Woweee! Seattle is snowless right now...just lots and lots and LOTS of rain! Sooooooo in thinking about all that snow across the board and then thinking about all the kiddos on holiday getting to go and play in it...I have created this snow inspired card using the adorable Puddle Jumper Winter Hannah stamp!! Isn't she CUTE!!

She is available at the Die Cuts R Us store, but for a limited time---because at the end of THIS WEEK, DCRU will be shutting it's doors and Claudia and Company Stamps will be available in the Claudia and Company STORE!!! Isn't that COOL! Be sure and check out the C & Co. Blog for all the latest details.

Have a wonderful day and if you're venturing outside, be sure to stay bundled up like PJ Hannah!

Merry Christmas

Happy Friday, Friends!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Can you believe Christmas Eve is only 1 week away! I'm so excited...it's like I'm 5 again during this time of year. LOL

Here's a little Christmas card I made as I was racking my brain for something fairly simple to replicate a few times, in order to finally send a few handmade cards this year! Can you believe it, a card maker who doesn't send handmade Christmas cards? Outrageous. LOL! Normally, I'm so stressed with all that's going on, that I end up making a card for my parents and the ladies at work, and that's it! This year I will try and make a few more thanks to this cute little paper wreath idea! :)

Hugs and Happy Holidays to All!

Spotlight on Claudia and Company

Hi Friends! Happy Friday!!
And it's a VERY happy Friday, indeed, because today begins the December challenge over at Claudia and Company!

This month's challenge is to spotlight an area of your card. There are several ways to do a spotlight, as you'll notice in all the FABulous samples the DT has for your inspiration today. I chose to go with an almost literal spotlight and cast a beam on cute little Party time Piper here. Actually, I kinda wanted the card to look like layers of it were unfolding or being pulled up and techni-color Puddle Jumper Piper emerging from it all. :) Well, at least that was the vision, the execution is a whole other thing! LOL!

And that's my card! But before I go, I really do want to "Spotlight" Claudia and Company for a second and direct your attention to some very exciting news that was shared on the DCRU blog yesterday. Check it out!

Be sure and stop by the rest of the girlies blogs and leave them some love! Have a Great weekend!

Jesus Is The Reason For The Season

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:8-14

Hello!!
Today I'm joining a very special group of ladies for a very very special Celebratory Hop! It's a card hop to celebrate what Christmas truly means to each of us ladies and that is to honor Jesus. I truly am so thankful to be part of such a wonderful tribute to (and for) the reason I am the person I am today. PTL! :)
Okay, on with the show!

You should have arrived from Heather's Blog and she is the first stop of this Lovely Hop, so you're on the right track!! And speaking of that sweet lady...there are several sponsors for this hop who are offering prizes and her company Freshed Brewed Designs is one of them!
Here's what's up for grabs just for hopping and leaving comments with us today:

In addition to the official sponsors, a few stampers in the group are offering up some gifties too! You'll just have to hop hop hop all the way through to find out!
And there's also an opportunity for you to join us if you'd like! At the end of the hop, Catherine's Blog has a link where you can upload your own "Jesus Is The Reason" card!

For my card I've used an old SU set called "Baby Jesus is born" and decided to create a snow globe shaker card! I colored the image with Copics and used glitter and pearl dots for the snow. It's all held together with a piece of acetate and dimensionals. The paper is My Minds Eye and the ribbon is also SU.

Here is a bird's eye view of the card after it's been shaken a bit. :)

Thanks so much for joining us today and Merry Christmas!! Your NEXT STOP on the HOP is the Lovely Karen!!

Hello and a very Merry TGF Hop to YOU!!!

I'm so excited to join in on the holiday hoppin' fun, as I have sooooooo been missing the Farm!
If you've just popped over here and are looking for the beginning of the hop, please start things off at The Greeting Farm Blog. You'll find a complete list of all stops on the hop there (I recommend having two tabs open :)

This is Little Santa Ian and his "deer" friend rudolph getting ready to go out and make their Christmas deliveries!
I hope you're having a blast and enjoying all of the holiday hype! Thanks for stopping by!
(p.s. for inquiring minds...I used liquid applique on Santa Ian's hat and coat to give it some texture)

Have A Tweet Christmas

Hi Friends!
Happy Monday!

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts lately! Things have been out of sorts at my house lately, but this week is full of fun things so I hope you will join me! Tomorrow is going to be the Holiday Hop at TGF and it's going to be HUGE (starts at 7pm CST)! And then stay tuned because Wednesday there is going to be a fabulous "Jesus is the Reason" Hop dedicated to the true meaning of Christmas. And then I just might have another cutie pie Puddle Jumper for you on Friday!

BUT TODAY...today I'm showcasing the adorable little Have a Tweet Christmas digi stamp that I got from Freshed Brewed Designs for my entry in this month's Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards Swap. As soon as I heard that it was going to be SNOWMAN themed, I knew that this little FBD stamp was going to be perfect for my card!

I pulled out some old Stampin' Up! favorites for this one, including my ornament punch and Red Ridinghood ribbon! I used Copic markers to color the image and stickles and glittery button to give this card a bit of sparkle!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!

Color Me Green

Hi Friends!
It's Challenge time over at Claudia & Company!! This month's super fun challenge is a color combo! We chose cream and brown for you and the third color is entirely up to you! Easy Peasy, eh? Yes! So I hope that you will join in on all the fun!!

For my card, I've used Puddle Jumper Party Time Noah (new from our Winter Release) and he is dressed to the nines to wish someone sweet a very Happy Birthday!
As for the rest of the card, I was going for a bit of everything with the elements in this recipe. I've got different shapes, textures and stitching; as well as buttons, ribbon and my color of choice: Olive Green. The paper for my card is SEI and Noah is colored with Copics.

Noah and all the winter releases can be found in the DIECUTSRUS store. AND just a little reminder, if you join us for our monthly challenge and your card is selected, you get to find out what next month's challenge is early and join the DT for showcasing samples in the next challenge! SA-WEET!!

Just Because

Hello Friends!
Happy Friday! I can't believe it's been an entire week since I posted anything. I really have missed it!
But I'm back today with a fun little project that I've been working on! And I think I will affectionately start referring to Friday as Puddle Jumper Friday. LOL. I think I've posted a cutie pie PJ every Friday for the last month, so it seems I'm on a roll :)

And this adorable Puddle Jumper is Daisy (designed by the talented Lori Boyd for Claudia and Company Stamps)! She is SO FUN and reminds me a little bit of myself from my grade school days. Even the fact that she comes with a little kitty companion stamp reminds me of me! Haha. I had several kitty-cats growing up...only one at a time, but I always had one or was begging my mom to get another. Now I have dogs, go figure. :)

So, as I said, this is a little card gift set that I've been working on to give to a sweet friend of mine. I found the awesome Card Purse tutorial HERE on SCS. There are SO MANY great tutorials over there...hours and hours and hours of fun. Then I made some little note cards with envelopes for stuffing inside of the little box. The patterned paper that I've used is Echo Park Sweet Summertime and PJ Daisy and kitty are colored in Copics. You can find the stamps, paper and for a limited time--the markers too, HERE at DieCutsRUs.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! I can't believe we're nearing the end of October!! Time is flying by! I better get working on my Christmas Cards!

Princess Time!

Hi Friends!

Happy Friday to you!
I've been trying to motivate myself all week to work on cards, but I've been feeling a bit under the weather and after working all day, have retreated home with nothing but rest on my mind. :(
All that said, I do have a princess card for you today! I figure that even if I don't feel well, I can't help but smile when I see a princess, especially one as cute as Puddle Jumper Chloe (designed by the Fabulous Lori Boyd)!

For this cutie-pie princess card I've used My Minds Eye 'I Believe' Paper and Crate Paper 'School Spirit'. The button is Basic Grey, the ribbon is American Crafts and the sparkle is Stickles. Puddle Jumper Princess Chloe is colored with Copics and is a Claudia and Company stamp which can be found HERE at DieCutRUs (sentiments I've used are C&Co. stamps too).

Before I sign off today and wish you many blessings for your weekend, I wanted to put a reminder out there that there's still time to join us at Claudia and Company for the monthly challenge---use any C&Co. stamp plus the recipe of Orange/buttons/ribbon on a card and submit your entry HERE. AND AND AND (on a separate note) there's still time to purchase C&Co. stamps and have part of the proceeds from your purchase go to the Susan G. Komen fund! For details go here.

Thanks and have a WONDERFUL weekend!!

Reach for the Sky

Hi Friends!
How are you?

I'm back with another fun Puddle Jumper card today! This is Cowboy McCoy and he is from the October release. I just think he is too cute for words.

As I was making this card the other night I was thinking of different sentiments; wanting it to be kind of a brighten your day kind of card. Then as I was looking through my bin of stamps I found this one (PTI) and I couldn't help but smile and think of the sweet Woody character from Toy story! So, I did it, I went with "reach for the sky!" heehee. I hope you like it.

You can find McCoy and all the other Claudia and Company stamps, HERE in the DieCutsRUs store. Oh and also, Cowboy McCoy is being featured TODAY over at the Claudia and Company blog! So pop over THERE and check out all the fabulous ways to use this super fun stamp! And just a little reminder, for every C&Co. stamp you purchase this month, Claudia will generously donate $1-2 per stamp to the Susan G. Komen fight for the cure. Awesome!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Recipe Challenge!

Hi Friends!
It's Challenge time over at Claudia & Company!! This month's super fun challenge is to incorporate the color Orange, Buttons and Ribbon into your project! Easy Peasy, eh? Yes! So I hope that you will join in on all the fun!!

For my card, I've used Mr. Smiles and I did something really fun with him that I'd been planning to try out ever since I first saw this cute little guy---I covered him in Fun Flock!! I turned him into the little green fuzzy guy that I know he truly is in his heart. Heehee.
As for the rest of the card, I was going for a bit of everything with the elements in this recipe. I've got different shapes, textures and stitching; as well as buttons, ribbon and ORANGE (orange is my very favorite color, fyi)! The paper for my card is K & Company and My Minds Eye and the parts of Mr. Smiles that aren't "flocked" are colored with Copics.

And that's my card! I hope you will pop over to the Claudia & Company Blog and check out all the AMAZING inspiration provided by the DT!! And if you haven't picked up the October stamps yet, you can find them HERE in the DieCutsRUs store! I also wanted to remind you that proceeds from stamps you purchase from Claudia & Company this month will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. How awesome is that!

One Good Friend

Hello There!
How was your weekend? Mine was very relaxing. I even got together with my sister-in-law on Saturday and we got pampered with pedicures! Talk about relaxing! And just in case you're totally curious (I know I would be), I chose a dark shade of maroon for my toesies, since it's fall :)

I wanted to pop on and share a little card I made recently for the monthly card swap I'm in! This month's theme, hosted by the FABulous and ever so funny--Karen, was about friendship and to get a little cheeky with your message. There were some awesome suggestions for sentiments; hilarious actually, but everytime I looked through my stamps, I just could not make a perfect match...until I found these two in my bin!

The cutie pie monsters are from Stampin Bella Monstah Bash and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado. The paper is My Minds Eye, the ribbon is SU and the images are colored with Copics and Clear Spica.

Such a fun card to make...I hope the girlies like it! AND what a PERFECT day to post this card too because it's my dear friend KAREN's BIRTHDAY!!! Happy Happy Birthday, my sweet friend! I hope you're having a fabulous day!

Thanks for popping by today!

A Princess, a Cowboy and a Monster, oh my!

(WINNERS of my September Blog Candy are listed in the previous post)

Hi Friends!
Happy Happy October 1st to you!
Today is quite the exciting day because it's the 1st of the month, and you know what that means...NEW STAMPS from CLAUDIA & COMPANY!! Wooohooo! Hopefully you have arrived from Tracy's Blog, but if you haven't, then please start HERE at the C&Co. blog so you're sure to see all the fabulous DT work and get yourself entered to win one of this month's stamps!

I've been so excited to show you what's in store for October and now I can finally spill the beans. There are 3 stamps (plus a bonus stamp--see the blog for details) that are being release in the store today over at DieCutsRUs. You saw Mr. Smiles yesterday and today I have the PJ's for you!

First up is Puddle Jumper Cowboy McCoy and he's here with a howdy, hello, how are ya! Cutie Pie! I've paired him with Cosmo Cricket's Wanter Paper (available in the DCRU store) and added some other fun touches as well (like a matching Cosmo Cricket Wanted button! Saweet!). I've also used the Mojo Monday 158 sketch...who could resist! :)

And my second card for today features Puddle Jumper Princess Chloe! You were just waiting for a princess to arrive in the PJ collection, weren't you! I know I was! She's sooo sweet and I know quite a few cards that this little princess will be helping me out with! I've used Crate Paper's Snow Day Paper and super fun pink baker's twine (available in the DCRU store).

I wanted to share with you something else very special that's going on at DieCutsRUs this month. Some of you may know that it's breast cancer awareness month, and Claudia at DCRU has generously offered to donate to the Susan G. Komen for the cure $1 for every C&Co. stamp that is sold in rubber and $2 for every set. Isn't that wonderful! Claudia, you rock!

I hope you will consider stocking up on all your "wish listed" C&Co. stamps this month and support this great cause.

Your next stop is Risa's blog! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Here is a complete blog hop list...and we're also excited to have Jessica Diedrich join us this month as October's Guest Designer! woot woot! xoxo
