A Hero to Thank

My little brother was serving the last 5 years or so in the Navy. He has been on stints to Japan, Iraq and Kuwait. He has seen quite a bit and accomplished a lot. He even shook the hand of the (now former) President along the way. It's hard to know just how to thank all those who serve our country, but I do know that every little bit matters. My brother received many care packages when he was in Iraq but he shared with us that it was the kindness of strangers who sent him a package filled with items of gratitude that touched his heart the most.

Marie at The Greeting Farm did a wonderfully kind and generous thing for those of us with close family members in the military by creating a stamp set with our military Heroes in mind and then gifting it to all who wrote in at that time. Thank you, Marie.

I have created this card for my brother and I plan for this to be just the first of many that I will send out to encourage our military heroes. I hope that you will take the time to reflect on and encourage the Heroes in your life as well, whether it be military or not. Have a great Monday!

Deets:
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, Hero Ian
Paper: Basic Grey, Archaic; AC Textured CS Earthtones
Ink: SU! Markers; Black Stazon; Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Black Emboss Powder
Embies: SU! Ribbon, Silver Wire, Black Brads, Crystal Effects (on goggles)

Oh Kadie, what a beautiful tribute! I think he will love this card and it's done so perfectly with color choice, coloring and most especially made with love. What a tremedously sweet card :)
Hugs!

What an awesome card, and an awesome post, Kadie! I had no idea that your brother was serving. Is he still deployed? I'd be happy to get a care package to him - LMK!

What a wonderful card and tribute to your brother, Kadie! Did you actually sew with that wire? That's a fabulous touch! I hope your brother is safely at home, and I can never express enough thanks and gratitude for his dedicated service to our country!

Awww, thanks gals...all your kind words and gratitude for my brother's service really mean a lot. I will definitely pass on the sentiments. He is back in Seattle now and I gave him the card today. He said it was really cool and he's going to display it in his office/study/den. :)
