Love you, so, so much

Hello, Friends!

I’ve been busily getting inky in my craft space and seeing if after all the years, coloring is like riding a bike. I think I can confirm that the muscle memory is indeed there. 🤭

Since I had been working on coloring, a few images were ready to go and just needed some inspiration to match them with. I decided to visit Splitcoast Stampers because I remembered they have daily inspirational challenges, and found that my friend, Jeanette hosts the Wednesday sketch challenge! I was so excited!

I printed it out, went to my space and got to work thinking of what papers and embellishments would compliment the Mo Manning stamp, called With Love, (originally bought from Penny Black and is available in digital form at Mo’s store) that I had colored up and in waiting. Jeanette’s sketch was the perfect layout to highlight this image.

Here is the sketch called SC996

Hope you like what you see! Thanks for taking a look. AND there’s still time to join in the fun for this week’s sketch over at SCS! Would love to see what you create with it as well!

Sending Love

Hello Again!

I was attempting to wait until Sunday and get in a rhythm of posting a new creation only once a week (for fear of getting going again fast, only to burn out again), but I was just too excited to hold out another day. 🤭

I created this card a few months ago to send to a dear friend of mine (I never posted it because I wasn’t blogging back then). I think now, being that it’s so close to Valentine’s Day, it’s a great time to post this card. I also see that it fits perfectly to join in the Wednesday ‘Love is in the Air’ challenge over at Simon Says Stamp! Yippee!

This is the first time I’ve succeeded (IMO) in using Tim Holtz distress ink to create a cloud background. Many attempts had been made by myself previously and I scrapped them all. (SMH. I’m my worst critic).

Let’s see if I can recall some other details of the items I’ve used for this card…the stamp is from Colorado Craft Company called, Happy Day, purchased at Simon Says Stamp. The balloons are from MFT and topped with Stickles and heart confetti.

I’ve also started something else in this crafting reboot journey…I’ve been making new creations using only papers from boxes of scraps I’ve held onto. I have loads of fresh, full sized cardstock and patterned paper just calling out to me and yet, I am resolved to making a dent in the scrap paper pile. If I’m not going to do it, I just need to recycle. I have a hard time letting go, to be honest. So this card is made entirely of paper found in my scrap bin.

Thanks for taking a peek! Have a lovely rest of the week!

Next Level Thankful

Hello, Friends! I’m back!

It’s been quite some time that we’ve met in this way, but I think the mojo has finally returned. I took a long hiatus from design teams and swaps and card making in general (not entirely, as family members still received the occasional handmade celebratory card) following the birth of my son. Hard to believe that was nearly 10 years ago. Over those 10 years all my energy was devoted to him, family time and work. My craft room quickly became a storage room.

It’s been my goal for 2024 to turn that space back into MY creative space and it’s almost there! It’s not yet photo ready, but card making can once again take place. And I’m happy to share that crafting has indeed been happening :)

The card I’m sharing today is one that my Son and I worked on together to thank his Auntie for gifting him a new game for his Nintendo Switch.

The main image for this card is from the Dungeon Squad clear cling stamp set by The Sassy Club. (Let’s see if I can remember how to do a link to the website)

Thanks so much for taking a moment to spy the new creation. Would love any comments left to know you’re still out there!

{{{hugs}}}

I'm die-ing to try that SWAP

Hello!

I thought I would pop in and post a card that I created for a swap hosted by the lovely Terrie over at SCS, called "I'm die-ing to try that!"

She challenged us to create a card using some die cuts that we've been looking forward to using but haven't had the chance to yet. (or if we had some on our wishlist to purchase *wink)

I took a little inspiration from a card I saw over on Pinterest and decided to use this fun set from Lawn Fawn that I have. I stamped the crayon image first and then put those crayons and the sentiment from The Greeting Farm through my Cuttlebug. This was also a great way to use scraps of cardstock I had lying around!

Thanks for taking a look :) And there's still time to join us over in Terrie's swap!

A New Card!

Hi Friends!

I wanted to post a card I made recently for a friend who came to visit Seattle. We visited a local store together, called Impress, and I couldn't resist picking up a couple new items.

So, I dusted off my old cuttlebug and paper piercer and voila, a card to remember this sweet visit with my friend, Barb.

It's a little hard to tell from the pic, but the die cut is a cell phone. Also the faux pic of Seattle is spritzed with shimmer to look like a screen.

Thanks for popping by!

Chickens!

Hi Friends,

I know it's been a while since I posted. I took a hiatus from crafting after my son was born and I'm trying to get back into it more regularly.

Here is a card I made for the Sisterhood swap group I'm in and the theme was to make a card that had anything to do with chickens :)

Thanks for stopping by!

DDD November

Hi Friends!

It's been quite some time, but I'm back because it's the 15th of the month and I've got a Dueling Darling card to share.
(I'm still missing cards for Barb's fun kit in September and my own in October and I really apologize for that)

This month's hostesses are Carol (for the Divas) and Shelly (for the Dazzlers) and they've chosen a "Give Thanks" theme.
I love that theme and I LOVE this kit! :) There's just something really special about Fall when all the leaves start to change color and the air turns a little crisper---definitely something to be thankful for.

Thank you to Carol for the beautiful kit and thanks to this whole group of Darlings for being so big hearted, inspirational and creative!

Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving,
Kadie

DDD May Flowers

Hi Friends,
It's that time again for the 15th of the month and another round of Dueling Darlings.
This month our Diva hostess Tami provided us with an awesome kit, that includes this image from Red Rubber Designs.

We were also asked to share if we had a flower that we plant annually. I don't have anything that I plant every year, but I do have a few favorites in my yard that bloom once a year. My most favorite is our lilac bush. :)

Hope you enjoy all the Flower themed cards this month and be sure to visit all the Darlings below:

DDD Swing Into Spring

Hi Friends,
It's that time again for the 15th of the month (did you get your taxes done?) and another round of Dueling Darlings.
This month our Diva hostess is Suzy and her partner for the Dazzlers is Terry A. They chose a Swing Into Spring theme!
Suzy provided us with an awesome kit, that includes this image from a retired SU stamp set called A Kind Word.

We were also asked to share if we had a favorite Spring dessert and mine is LEMON BARS. Yummmmmm. :)

Hope you enjoy all the Spring themed cards this month and be sure to visit all the Darlings below:
